RESEARCH

CSR’s research is focused modelled on four thematic research programmes, namely:

(i) poverty and sustainable livelihoods;

(ii) democracy and governance;

(iii) the socio-cultural and economic aspects of public health; and

(iv). youth, gender and disability.

The selection and development of the four priority areas for the thematic areas reflects issues of critical importance to Malawi as guided by the MGDS III, the 2030 SDGs and the Malawi 2063 vision. The effects of crossing cutting and emerging issues like climate change and pandemics (Covid-19 for example) run through the core of CSR’s research agenda. Towards this research agenda, CSR cherishes and thrives in collaboration and partnerships with researchers in Malawi and the world at large mainly universities and research institutes.
