Description:
The aim of this study is to investigate factors that affect boys dis/engagement with education. Findings from this study will inform the development of a school-based intervention model, which will be piloted in Malawi. This is part of a project being implemented by UNESCO’s Section for Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality, Equimundo and the University of East Anglia, supported by the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX), a joint endeavour with the International Development Research Centre, Canada. The goal of this project is to reduce gender inequality and harmful masculine gender norms; strengthen education systems in Malawi, Cambodia, and Lesotho to be more gender-transformative, efficient, safe and inclusive; and build evidence to generate spill-off effects in other countries.
