The thematic scope of the project was to be an in-depth exploration of barriers and facilitators for access to education and scholastic achievements for children and young people with disabilities in Malawi ie An indepth exploration of the quality and relevance of public education for young people with disabilities in one rural and one urban area in Malawi andQualitative in-depth case studies focussing on 5-6 children and young people within the school-going age in one location in malawi. For each case study several data collection techniques and informants were to be utilised, including: In-depth interviews with the child/young person with disability, In-depth interviews with family members, neighbors, community members, local leaders and representatives of relevant educational institutions and direct observatins in the homes, communities and educational institutions where the children/young people live and go to school
