Research Project Empowers Lake Chilwa Children to Tell Their Own Stories


The Centre for Social Research and the Royal Society of Edinburgh, in collaboration with University of Stirling is conducting an innovative research project exploring lived experiences of children from the Lake Chilwa shore communities in Malawi.

The study explores the lived experiences of children through drawing, poetry, and digital storytelling to co-create interactive stories about their connection to the lake.

The study's fieldwork training was conducted in June, after which data collection commenced, led by Dr. Elita Chamdimba, Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Research, Dr. Marly Muudeni Samuel, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Stirling and Dennis Chikoko as the Project Assistant.
