AFROBAROMETER NETWORK RECOGNIZES CSR FOR LONG SERVICE AND EXCELLENCE

The Afrobarometer Network has awarded a trophy to the Centre for Social Research (CSR) at the on-going Afrobarometer Round 10 surveys planning meeting in Accra, Ghana, for its long service and excellence in conducting Afrobarometer surveys in Malawi. CSR has conducted Afrobarometer national surveys in Malawi since 1999. CSR’s Deputy Director, Mr. Joseph Chunga, who is also the Afrobarometer’s National Investigator for Malawi, received the award on behalf of CSR at an event organized on Wednesday night this week.

Chunga said conducting 8 Afrobarometer surveys is no mean achievement and symbolizes the level of confidence that the Afrobarometer has in CSR as a paragon of excellence in conducting nationally representative surveys in Malawi
“This means a lot to us. We will not sit on our laurels but rather work even harder in the next three rounds that have also been entrusted to us,” Chunga enthused.

Another Malawian, Dr Boniface Dulani also received an award for his long and distinguished service to the Afrobarometer Network where he serves as Director of Surveys. He joined the Network in 2008.
